Two Week Look Ahead (September 21)

Good morning.  We are starting to put some full weeks together and we are getting into a routine.  Last week, we held a Club Fair during lunch period and all students got to walk through the fair to see what clubs and activities are offered at LHS.  Many students signed up, so hopefully there will be strong participation in extra-curricular activities. 

The fall sports season is in full swing.  Come check out a game or two in the near future.  Our student-athletes play hard and do a great job of representing the community.

For our Senior class, the college process has begun.  Our guidance staff will hold college planning meetings on Tuesday, September 22.  The meetings will occur in the LHS library at 7:45 am and 6:00 pm.  Parents and guardians of Seniors are strongly encouraged to attend.  Senior students will be meeting with guidance counselors to start the application process.  Here are the dates and times of Senior Seminar with the LHS guidance staff:

Tuesday, September 22: 
  • Senior – Parent meeting for the college application process 7:45 am and 6:00 pm in the LHS library
  • PSAT assembly during Advisory for all students in grades 10 & 11.  Students will come home with a PSAT booklet and registration instructions.  Cost of the PSAT exam is $15 and is due by Friday, October 3rd.   Fee waivers are available for students that receive free or reduced lunch.

Thursday, September 24

NOTE: PSAT’s for 10th and 11th grade students will be on Wednesday, October 14th.  Seniors are encouraged to either set up a college visit for that day (see Mrs. Borneman for a college visit form) or to work on college applications in the computer lab with our guidance staff.
