Two Week Look Ahead
Good afternoon. The winter sports season is winding down. The only team playing at this
point, is the girls basketball team. With most of our students in between seasons, this
is the time of year that we tend to have a lot of activities so that all of our students
are a to attend or participate. Here is a calendar for the next two weeks:

News from the School Counseling Office
All LHS students in grades 8-11 are required to complete the Lunenburg High School 4-year
plan prior to registering for courses for 2016-17. The plan is attached here and can
also be accessed from each student's Naviance Family Connection account.
Students interested in a career in Nursing - please see attached invitation to the
Nursing Schools Expo held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the University of Massachusetts
MCAS Test Dates
Grade 10 English Language Arts (ELA) - March 22, 23 and March 24
Grade 10 Math - May 17 and May 18
Grade 10 Science & Technology/ Engineering (STE) - June 1 and June 2
- This is for all grade 10 students as well as grade 9 students presently taking Biology or Engineering the Future
Grade 8 ELA - April 7 and April 8
Grade 8 Math & STE - testing window May 10-24. Specific dates TBD.
April 15th - this is the LAST day for seniors to submit a completed Community Scholarship
Application to Mrs. B in the School Counseling Office. Other scholarship applications
are available in the office and students are encouraged to check-in frequently to see
what is new.
As students receive admission decisions from the colleges and universities they have
applied to, please remember to go in to your Naviance account and report it - options
include accepted, denied, waitlisted, etc. All students must report each admission
decision in advance of graduation. Students are also welcome to
Please check with the college(s) you are interested in attending regarding the deadline
for financial aid forms to be received. You may also want to ask your college about its
definition of an application deadline - whether it is the date the college receives your
FAFSA, or the date your FAFSA is processed. Each college can set their own deadline
which is always on or before the Massachusetts deadline for priority consideration is
May 1, 2016.
IMPORTANT AP EXAM INFORMATION
All students taking an AP course have received information regarding registration and
payment for their exams. Payment received before Wednesday, March 16, 2016 will avoid a
$10 late fee and the final day to register and pay for exams is Friday, March 18, 2016.

JUNIORS - COLLEGE FAIR FIELD TRIP
The School Counseling Office is sponsoring a field trip to the Boston National College
Fair on Monday, May 23rd. Permission slip is attached and also available in our office.
The cost of the trip is $15. There are 52 spots available for this trip and slots will
be assigned on a first come, first serve basis when students have returned a completed
permission slip and payment to Mrs. B in the School Counseling Office.
